Department of Economics

The Department of Economics started functioning in the year 1981 as an Undergraduate department and was elevated to Postgraduate department in the year 2013. The department offers three-year Undergraduate course and two-year Postgraduate course in Economics. The department has seven permanent faculties. In the first batch of the Postgraduate course in Economics, one of the students secured second rank in university examination. The graduated students over the years have got placements in various institutions and some of them have opted to pursue higher studies.

VISION

To provide affordable quality education, while equipping students with knowledge and skills in Economics stream, inculcate values, identify hidden talents, provide opportunities for students to realise their full potential and thus shape them into future leaders, economists, entrepreneurs and above all, good human beings.

  • Ensure our students develop the interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills they need to become responsible citizens and leaders and thereby make fruitful contribution to the nation building.

M.A ENGLISH

Any candidate who has passed B.A degree of any University or Institutes in any states recognised by UGC or AICTE with minimum of 45% marks or equivalent grade is eligible for admission. OBC and SC/ST students are eligible for mark/grade relaxation as per the University rules.

B.A ENGLISH

Candidates who have passed (Eligible for Higher Studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognised as equivalent thereto with at least one commerce subject are eligible for admissions to the B.Com degree course. Candidates who have not studied commerce subject for Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination not less than 45% marks are also eligible. A concession of 5% will be given to OBC/OEC candidates. The SC/ST candidates need get only a pass. (U.O. No.GAI/A2/1658/2007 dated 28.02.2008).
